Description
The newly completed Kenneth F. Burns Memorial Bridge displaying its holiday lighting theme during Christmas week in 2015. The new arch bridge is the 5th bridge to be implemented at this particular location and spans Lake Quinsigamond on the Worcester - Shrewsbury town line. The previous version was a concrete arch bridge that had been established in 1916. The earliest version of the bridge actually consisted of floating logs chained together that transported stagecoaches & wagons across the lake, making it possible for them to continue down the Boston-Worcester Turnpike.
